Cancellation & Refund Policy
Last Updated: June 18, 2026 · Effective: June 18, 2026
1. Purpose and Applicability
This Refund & Cancellation Policy ("Policy") sets out the terms on which Namma Ashram Private Limited (the "Company", "we", "us", "our"), trading as "The Curio Table & Namma Ashram", will cancel, reschedule, or refund a Booking made through thecuriotable.in or its associated channels (the "Platform"), covering table reservations, event and workshop tickets, games and activity bookings, memberships, and gift vouchers. This Policy should be read together with our Reservation & Dining Terms and Event / Workshop / Ticketing Terms, which govern the underlying Booking.
2. General Principles
2.1 All eligible refunds are credited only to the original payment method used for the Booking, in accordance with applicable Reserve Bank of India guidelines; we do not issue cash refunds for online payments.
2.2 Refunds, once approved, are typically processed within 7 to 10 business days, though the time for the amount to reflect in your account thereafter depends on your bank or payment provider and is outside our control.
2.3 Any payment-gateway or platform convenience fee charged at the time of booking is non-refundable, except where the cancellation is initiated by the Company under Section 6.
2.4 Where a Booking is cancelled, any portion of the price representing taxes already remitted to the government, and that is not separately recoverable by us, may be deducted from the refund.
2.5 Any determination by the Company as to eligibility for a refund, credit, or transfer under this Policy, including whether a cancellation falls within Section 6 (Cancellation, Postponement, or Material Change by the Company), is made reasonably and in good faith and is final for the purposes of processing your request, without prejudice to your right to escalate under Section 13 or any statutory right you may have as a consumer.
3. Table Reservations
3.1 Reservations without advance payment: No cancellation fee applies. We request that you cancel or amend a reservation as early as reasonably possible to allow us to release the table to other guests, and repeated no-shows may result in future bookings requiring advance payment as a condition of confirmation.
3.2 Reservations with an advance payment or deposit (for example, large groups, festive dates, or set menus): unless a different schedule is communicated to you at the time of booking, the following applies:
- Cancelled 48 hours or more before the reserved time: full refund of the advance payment.
- Cancelled between 24 and 48 hours before the reserved time: 50% refund of the advance payment.
- Cancelled less than 24 hours before the reserved time, or a no-show: advance payment is forfeited.
3.3 Where the advance payment is adjustable against your final bill rather than a non-refundable deposit, this will be stated at the time of booking, and Section 3.2 will apply only to the extent the reservation does not proceed.
4. Event and Workshop Tickets
Unless a different schedule is stated for a specific Event on the Platform at the time of booking (which will prevail over this default schedule), the following applies to paid Event and workshop Tickets:
- Cancelled 7 days or more before the Event: full refund, less any non-refundable convenience fee under Section 2.3.
- Cancelled between 3 and 7 days before the Event: 50% refund.
- Cancelled less than 72 hours before the Event: non-refundable. You may, as a one-time courtesy, request to transfer your Ticket to another person by writing to us at least 24 hours before the Event, subject to our confirmation and the transferee meeting any eligibility criteria for that Event.
- No-show: non-refundable and non-transferable.
5. Games and Activity Bookings
Unless a different schedule is stated for a specific activity on the Platform at the time of booking, the following applies:
- Cancelled 24 hours or more before the booked slot: full refund, less any non-refundable convenience fee under Section 2.3.
- Cancelled less than 24 hours before the booked slot, or a no-show: non-refundable.
6. Cancellation, Postponement, or Material Change by the Company
Where we cancel a Booking, or materially change an Event's date, venue, or format, you will be offered, at your election: (a) a full refund, including any convenience fee paid; (b) a credit note of equivalent value valid for 12 months, redeemable against any future Booking; or (c) where the Event is rescheduled rather than cancelled, the option to attend the new date at no extra cost. Our liability in such cases is limited to the refund or credit described in this Section, and we are not liable for any other loss or expense you may incur in connection with the original Booking (including travel or third-party costs), except where such liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
7. Memberships
Where the Company offers a paid membership programme, a member may cancel within 7 days of purchase ("cooling-off period") for a full refund, provided no membership benefit has been availed during that period. After the cooling-off period, membership fees are non-refundable, except on a pro-rata basis where the Company discontinues the programme before the membership term ends, or as otherwise required by applicable law. The Company may revise membership benefits, renewal pricing, or programme terms from time to time, with reasonable prior notice to existing members; such changes apply prospectively and will not reduce the benefits attached to a membership term already paid for.
8. Gift Vouchers and Credit Notes
Gift vouchers and credit notes issued by the Company carry a minimum validity of one year from the date of issue, are non-refundable for cash, and are subject to the specific terms printed on or accompanying the voucher.
9. Failed, Duplicate, or Disputed Transactions
If an amount is debited from your account but your Booking was not confirmed, the amount is typically auto-reversed to your original payment method by your bank or our Payment Partner within the timelines prescribed under the applicable Reserve Bank of India framework for failed transactions. If you do not see a reversal within a reasonable time, please write to us with your transaction reference at community@thecuriotable.in, and we will assist in following up with our Payment Partner.
10. Chargebacks
If you raise a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or card issuer in relation to a Booking, we reserve the right to respond with evidence of the Booking and any service delivered. Raising a chargeback in relation to a Booking that was validly fulfilled in accordance with these policies, instead of contacting us directly, may result in the suspension of your account and, where applicable, recovery of amounts and reasonable costs (including any penalty or processing fee levied by our Payment Partner) through appropriate legal process.
11. Non-Refundable Items
Notwithstanding anything in this Policy, amounts paid for perishable, made-to-order, or personalised items (such as a customised cake or bespoke menu prepared specifically for your Booking) are non-refundable once preparation has commenced, except where the Company is responsible for a defect in the item provided. No refund is due for partial attendance, early departure, or failure to use a confirmed Booking in full, nor where a reservation or Ticket is refused, terminated, or cancelled on account of the guest's or Participant's own breach of these policies, the Dining Terms, or the Ticketing Terms, including non-compliance with eligibility, identification, or conduct requirements.
12. How to Request a Refund or Cancellation
To request a cancellation or refund, write to community@thecuriotable.in with your Booking reference, the date of the Booking, and the reason for your request, or use the cancellation option on the Platform where available. We will acknowledge your request within 48 hours and resolve it within 30 days, consistent with the grievance-redressal timelines under the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020.
13. Escalation
If you are not satisfied with the resolution of your refund or cancellation request, you may escalate the matter to admin@thecuriotable.in, referencing your original request. If the matter remains unresolved, you retain your statutory right to approach the appropriate consumer forum under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, or any other competent authority, in addition to any dispute-resolution mechanism described in our Website Terms of Use.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time, with the revised version posted on the Platform bearing an updated "Last Updated" date. The version of this Policy in effect at the time you complete a Booking will apply to that Booking, save for any more specific terms communicated to you at the time of booking.
