Reservations, Events, Workshops, Games & Ticketing
1. Scope and Applicability
These Booking & Experience Terms ("Terms") govern every booking made with Namma Ashram Private Limited (the "Company", "we", "us", "our"), trading as "The Curio Table & Namma Ashram" (the "Brand"), for any table reservation, ticketed event, workshop, game, or activity (each, an "Experience") offered at our venue at Curiouscity Science Center, Kachamaranahalli, Thigala Chowdadenahalli, Sarjapur Road, Bengaluru, Karnataka 562125 (the "Venue"), or at any other location we specify for a particular Experience, whether the booking is made through our website thecuriotable.in (the "Platform"), by phone, by WhatsApp, or in person. These Terms supplement, and should be read together with, our Website Terms of Use, Refund & Cancellation Policy, and Privacy Policy, and are subject to the limitation of liability set out in Section 13 of our Website Terms of Use.
These Terms are organised as follows: Part A sets out general terms applicable to every Experience; Part B sets out terms specific to table reservations and dining; Part C sets out terms specific to ticketed events, workshops, games, and activities; and Part D contains general provisions. Where a term in Part B or Part C is inconsistent with a term in Part A in relation to a specific type of Experience, the term in Part B or Part C, as applicable, shall prevail to the extent of that inconsistency.
2. Definitions
"Experience" means any table reservation, ticketed event, workshop, game, or activity offered by the Company, including those described on the Platform as "Regular Dining," "Mystery Dining," "Immersive Dining," "Curio Workshop," or as an Event ticket. "Booking" means any reservation, ticket purchase, registration, or order for an Experience. "Guest" or "Participant" means the individual(s) for, or by, whom a Booking is made. "Ticket" means a confirmed Booking for an Event, whether free or paid. "Event" means a ticketed Experience other than a standard table reservation, including a workshop, masterclass, game, activity, or curated experience. "Organiser" means the Company or, where an Event is hosted in collaboration with a third-party facilitator, brand, or artist, that third party acting jointly with or on behalf of the Company.
Part A — General Terms Applicable to All Bookings
3. The Booking Process and Confirmation
A Booking may be requested through the Platform, by phone, by WhatsApp, or in person, by providing the Experience type, date, time, party size or ticket quantity, and contact details requested. A Booking is confirmed only upon receipt of a confirmation message from us via email, SMS, or WhatsApp, or, where applicable, upon successful completion of any required payment or advance payment. Please retain your confirmation, as it (or any QR code or reference number it contains) may be required for entry. We will make reasonable efforts to honour the exact preferences requested but cannot guarantee a specific table, seating area, or arrangement unless expressly confirmed in writing.
4. Pricing, Payment, and Taxes
4.1 Dining: Menu prices displayed at the Venue and on the Platform are, unless otherwise stated, exclusive of applicable Goods and Services Tax (GST), which will be added to your final bill at the rate applicable at the time of billing. We reserve the right to revise menu prices, and to substitute ingredients or menu items with alternatives of comparable quality where required by availability, in each case without prior notice; the price applicable to your order is the price displayed at the time the order is placed.
4.2 Events, workshops, games, and activities: Prices for Tickets are stated in Indian Rupees and, unless stated otherwise, are inclusive of applicable GST. Where a payment-gateway or platform convenience fee applies, it will be disclosed to you before payment is collected.
4.3 Payment: All online payments are processed through our RBI-authorised Payment Partner; we do not store your full card details. Where an advance payment or deposit is required to confirm a Booking, this will be clearly communicated to you, along with the amount and the terms on which it is adjustable against your final bill or refundable.
5. Eligibility, Age Restrictions, and Identification
You must be at least 18 years of age and capable of entering into a binding contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872 to make a Booking. Some Experiences are restricted by age, including alcohol service (restricted to persons 21 years of age or older, the legal drinking age in Karnataka), Events where content is unsuitable for minors, or activities requiring a minimum age for safety reasons; the applicable age or eligibility restriction will be stated on the Platform at the time of booking. We may request valid, government-issued photo identification from any guest or Participant who appears to be under the applicable age, or to verify eligibility generally, and we reserve the right to refuse entry, service, or participation where eligibility cannot be satisfactorily verified.
6. Modifying or Cancelling Your Booking
You may request a change to the date, time, party size, or ticket quantity of your Booking by contacting us through the same channel used to book, subject to availability; we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate such requests but cannot guarantee that the original terms, slot, or any associated advance payment will carry over unchanged. If you wish to cancel a Booking, the applicable refund, credit, or forfeiture, if any, is governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy. Repeated no-shows or late cancellations may result in future Bookings from the same contact details requiring advance payment as a condition of confirmation.
7. Cancellation, Postponement, or Material Change by the Company
We may need to reschedule, modify the format or venue, substitute a facilitator or performer, or cancel a Booking due to reasons including insufficient registrations, facilitator unavailability, safety concerns, or force majeure (Section 16). Where we cancel or materially change a Booking, you will be offered, at your election, a full refund, a credit for a future Booking, or, where rescheduled, the option to proceed on the new date, as further described in our Refund & Cancellation Policy. We will make reasonable efforts to notify affected guests or Participants as soon as practicable using the contact details provided at booking.
8. Right of Admission, House Rules, and Code of Conduct
Entry to, and continued presence at, the Venue or an Event is subject to presentation of a valid Booking confirmation or Ticket and, where applicable, identification, and to any house rules or Experience-specific guidelines communicated to you in advance (such as dress code, arrival time, or items not permitted). We reserve the right to refuse entry or service, or to require a guest or Participant to leave, where reasonably necessary to maintain the safety, comfort, or experience of other guests, Participants, and staff, including in cases of intoxication, disorderly, abusive, or discriminatory conduct, non-compliance with applicable guidelines, or conduct that violates applicable law. Guests and Participants are expected to treat our staff, facilitators, performers, and fellow guests with respect at all times. Our determination on any matter under this Section is made reasonably and in good faith, and is final for the purposes of entry, seating, participation, or removal, without prejudice to any right you may otherwise have under applicable consumer protection law. No refund is due where a Booking is terminated under this Section on account of the guest's or Participant's own conduct.
9. Health, Safety, and Personal Belongings
We take reasonable care for the safety of our guests and Participants at the Venue. Except to the extent caused by our negligence or that of our staff, and subject always to the limitation of liability set out in Section 13 of our Website Terms of Use, we are not liable for any loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings brought onto the premises, or for any injury that does not arise from our negligence or breach of applicable safety standards. Any health, fitness, dietary, or wellness-related content offered as part of an Experience is provided for general informational and experiential purposes only and does not constitute medical, dietary, or professional advice; guests and Participants with specific medical concerns should consult an appropriate qualified professional before participating. Guests are responsible for the supervision of children and dependents accompanying them.
10. Allergies, Dietary Requirements, and Special Requests
We make reasonable efforts to accommodate disclosed food allergies, intolerances, and dietary preferences, and request that you inform our staff of any such requirements before placing your order or attending an Experience that involves food. Our kitchen handles a wide range of ingredients, including common allergens, and while we take reasonable precautions, we cannot guarantee the complete absence of cross-contamination. Guests with severe allergies should exercise their own judgment in consultation with our staff before ordering or participating, and the Company shall not be liable for any adverse reaction arising from undisclosed allergies or from the inherent risk of cross-contamination in a shared kitchen environment, except to the extent caused by our negligence. The Venue operates under a valid licence issued under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 (FSSAI Licence No. [Insert FSSAI Licence Number]), displayed at the Venue and available on request.
11. Children and Infants
Children are welcome at the Venue, subject to applicable house rules, the nature of any particular Experience, and any age-related restrictions communicated at the time of booking. Parents and guardians are responsible for the supervision and conduct of accompanying minors at all times.
12. Pets
Please contact us in advance to confirm our current pet policy for a specific date, Experience, or seating area, as this may vary based on Venue layout, programming, and applicable health regulations.
13. Photography, Recording, and Marketing Consent
Personal, non-commercial photography by guests or Participants for their own use is permitted, subject to respecting the privacy of others present. Photography or filming for commercial, editorial, or promotional purposes requires our prior written consent. We may photograph or record activity at the Venue and at Events for our own marketing and archival purposes; by attending, you consent to being incidentally captured as part of such general photography or recording, except where you have specifically informed our staff that you do not wish to be featured. Where reasonably practicable, we will display notice of ongoing photography or recording. Guests and Participants may not record or photograph ticketed performances, demonstrations, or proprietary workshop content for distribution without our prior written consent and that of the relevant performer or facilitator, in order to protect applicable copyright and performers' rights.
14. Indemnification by Guest or Participant
You agree to indemnify the Company against any loss or damage to Venue property, fixtures, furnishings, or equipment, and against any claim brought by a third party, arising from the negligent, wilful, or unlawful conduct of you or any member of your party, or any conduct of yours that causes loss or injury to another guest, Participant, facilitator, or third party.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, regardless of whether a claim is brought in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or otherwise, the Company's aggregate liability in connection with a Booking shall not exceed the amount actually paid for that Booking, and the Company shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, exemplary, or punitive losses, including loss of profit, loss of opportunity, or reputational harm, arising out of or in connection with a Booking. Where an Experience is led or co-organised by an independent third-party facilitator, brand, or artist, our liability is on the same basis described in Section 15 (Relationship of Parties; No Agency) of our Website Terms of Use. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under Indian law, including in connection with the inherent risk described in Section 26 (Games and Physical Activity Bookings).
16. Force Majeure
We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in honouring a Booking, or for any cancellation, postponement, or modification, arising from causes beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, fire, flood, earthquake, pandemic, epidemic, war, terrorism, civil unrest, riots, strikes or labour disputes, governmental action or regulatory change, power or internet outages, or failure of third-party venues, performers, or infrastructure. In such cases, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you and to reschedule or, where applicable under our Refund & Cancellation Policy, refund any amount paid.
Part B — Terms Specific to Table Reservations & Dining
17. Hold Time
Confirmed reservations are held for 15 minutes past the reserved time. If you anticipate arriving later than this, please inform us in advance through the contact details provided in your confirmation; we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate a delayed arrival, subject to table availability, but cannot guarantee the table will remain available beyond the hold time without such notice.
18. Advance Payment and Deposits for Reservations
For large group bookings, festive or high-demand dates, set-menu experiences, or private dining requests, we may require an advance payment or deposit to confirm the reservation, on the terms described in Section 4.3. Cancellation and refund treatment of any such advance payment is governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
19. Group and Large Party Bookings
Bookings for groups above a size we specify on the Platform may be subject to a minimum spend, a set or limited menu, a defined seating duration, and/or an advance payment, each of which will be communicated to you at the time of confirming the booking.
20. Alcohol Service
Where alcoholic beverages are served at the Venue under a valid licence held by the Company, such service is restricted to guests who are 21 years of age or older, in accordance with Section 5. We may request valid, government-issued photo identification from any guest who appears to be under that age, and we reserve the right to refuse service of alcohol where age cannot be satisfactorily verified or where, in our reasonable judgment, a guest is intoxicated. Alcohol purchased at the Venue may not be removed from the premises where prohibited by applicable excise law.
21. Service Charge and Tips
Any service charge or tip is entirely voluntary at the discretion of the guest. It is never added to your bill automatically or by default, will not be collected under any alternate name or terminology, and will not be made a precondition for placing an order, receiving service, or being seated. If a service charge appears on a printed bill as a suggested amount, you are free to decline it, have it removed, or pay any amount of your choosing in its place, in accordance with the Guidelines issued by the Central Consumer Protection Authority on the levy of service charge in hotels and restaurants, as upheld by the Delhi High Court. This is separate from applicable government taxes, which are mandatory and shown separately on your bill. Where an Event or workshop includes a dining component, this Section applies equally to that component.
22. Outside Food, Beverages, and Corkage
Outside food and beverages, including alcohol, may not be brought onto the premises except where we expressly permit it (such as a celebration cake), and any applicable corkage or service fee for permitted outside items will be communicated to you in advance.
23. Private Events and Venue Buyouts
Private dining, buyouts, or full-Venue bookings are subject to a separate written agreement between you and the Company, which will set out applicable terms, including pricing, minimum spend, cancellation terms, and any deposit, in addition to these Terms to the extent not inconsistent with that agreement.
Part C — Terms Specific to Events, Workshops, Games & Ticketing
24. Ticket Validity, Transfer, and Resale
Unless expressly stated otherwise for a particular Event, a Ticket is valid only for the specific Event, date, time, and Participant named (or, for non-named Tickets, the holder of the valid confirmation/QR code) for which it was booked, and is non-transferable. Reselling, or offering to resell, a Ticket at a price exceeding its face value, or through any unauthorised third-party platform, is prohibited. We reserve the right to cancel, without refund, any Ticket we reasonably believe was acquired or is being used in breach of this Section.
25. Workshop-Specific Terms
25.1 Materials: Where a workshop includes physical materials, take-home items, or kits, these are provided strictly on the basis described on the Platform; substitutions of comparable value may be made where a specific material is unavailable.
25.2 Intellectual property in workshop content: Any curriculum, technique, demonstration, or proprietary method taught during a workshop remains the intellectual property of the Company and/or the facilitator, as applicable, and may not be recorded, reproduced, or commercially exploited by a Participant without prior written consent.
25.3 Participant-created work: Subject to Section 25.2, any physical item or output that a Participant personally creates during a workshop and takes home belongs to that Participant.
26. Games and Physical Activity Bookings
26.1 Assumption of risk: Certain games and activities offered by the Company involve an inherent degree of physical exertion or risk. By booking such an activity, you acknowledge this inherent risk and confirm that you are physically fit to participate, or that you have disclosed any relevant medical condition to us in advance.
26.2 Disclosure obligation: It is your responsibility to inform us, at the time of booking or before commencing the activity, of any medical condition, injury, pregnancy, or physical limitation that may affect your ability to safely participate.
26.3 Supervision and instructions: You agree to follow the safety instructions given by our staff or facilitators and to use any equipment provided only as instructed.
26.4 Limitation: Nothing in this Section excludes or limits our liability for death, personal injury, or any other liability arising from our negligence or breach of applicable safety standards, which cannot lawfully be excluded under Indian law. Subject to the foregoing, our liability for any other loss arising from your participation in a game or activity is limited as set out in Section 15.
27. Event and Workshop Intellectual Property
All Event branding, curriculum materials, photography, and recordings produced by or for the Company remain the property of the Company or its licensors, except as expressly stated in Section 25.3.
Part D — General Provisions
28. Amendments
We may update these Terms from time to time, with the revised version posted on the Platform bearing an updated "Last Updated" date. Experience-specific terms communicated to you at the time of booking, where more specific, will prevail over these Terms to the extent of any inconsistency.
29. Governing Law and Contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, subject to Section 19 (Dispute Resolution and Governing Law) of our Website Terms of Use. For booking and reservation queries, write to community@thecuriotable.in. For complaints or escalations regarding your Experience, write to admin@thecuriotable.in.
